Low-Fat Brownies

Ingredients

3⁄4 cup Solo Prune Plum (Lekvar) filling
1 1⁄2 cup sugar
1 1⁄4 cup water
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 egg whites
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon vanilla
1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon salt1
1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
1⁄2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

To bake these low fat brownies, preheat your oven to 350° F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with non-fat baking spray and set aside.

Combine Lekvar, water, egg whites and vanilla in medium-size bowl and mix well. In separate bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add lekvar mixture and stir together until just mixed. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle nuts over top.

Bake the low fat brownies for 20 to 25 minutes or until springy to the touch. Cool and cut into 2 x 2-inch squares.
