Cream Cheese Cherry Danish

Ingredients
1 can Solo Foods Cherry Cake and Pastry Filling
1 large egg
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp almond extract
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
Topping:1 cup sugar
2 tbsp water
1/4 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400F. In a small mixing bowl, whisk egg, flour, sugar, salt, lemon juice, and almond extract together until smooth. Then, add cream cheese until smooth. On a sheet of parchment paper, roll out your puff pastry to flatten and smooth, Cut the puff pastry sheet into two rectangles. Transfer the paper onto a baking sheet and brush edges with milk and bake for 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and gently press down the center of the rectangles to create a middle indent for filling. Don't press hard or all the way to the bottom. Divide the cream cheese mixture between the two pastries and and spread evenly. Take about 4-5 spoonfuls of Solo Foods Cherry Cake and Pastry Filling and spread across the top of the cream cheese filling. Bake the pastries for 15 minutes, until the pastry is golden. Allow pastries to cool before adding the topping. Make the glaze by combining sugar, water, almond extract, and salt in a small bowl. Drizzle over pastries and top with almonds.
