Celebrate Easter with a delicious Almond Filled Easter Puff Pastry dessert!

Ingredients

1 package
frozen puff pastry sheets (thawed)
4 tablespoon
Solo Almond Paste
2 tablespoon
brown sugar
4 tablespoon
unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
1  
egg (lightly beaten)
1  
candy decorations
1 package
frosting

Instructions

To make this almond-filled Easter puff pastry recipe...

  • Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  • Lay your puff pastry sheet out flat and cut out an even number of pieces using an Easter-themed cookie cutter.
  • In a small bowl, cut almond paste and butter together using a pastry blender. Once mashed together, add sugar and vanilla extract.
  • Spread the almond paste mixture on half of your Easter-shaped pastries. Use the remaining pastries to cover the filling, and then press the edges of the pastries together with a fork to seal in the almond paste filling.
  • Place the pastries onto a lined cookie sheet and brush the tops of each pastry with a beaten egg.
  • Place the pastries in the oven for 20 minutes (they will become a delicious golden brown) and then set aside to cool.
  • Add a few spoonfuls of frosting into a new bowl and microwave in 15 second increments. Dip the cooled pastries in the frosting to cover them completely.
  • Before the icing sets, decorate with sugars or candy pieces and enjoy!
