quick and easy popcorn balls

Looking for an amazing (and quick/easy) treat to make with the kids this Halloween? Look no further than this ooey-gooey popcorn ball recipe to tickle their sweet tooth. It’s a few simple and inexpensive ingredients and only takes a couple minutes to prepare. Clean up may take a bit longer, but the kids will love sticking their hands in the warm and sticky mixture to craft the popcorn balls.

Here’s how to make these quick and easy Halloween treats!

Popcorn Ball Ingredients

To make a batch of roughly a dozen of these popcorn treats (depending on the size of your treats), you’ll need these 6 ingredients:

  • ¾ stick of butter or margarine
  • A 13oz container of our delicious Solo brand Marshmallow Creme
  • A 4oz package of orange gelatin
  • A couple drops of orange or red/yellow food coloring
  • 2 cups of candy corn
  • 14 cups of popcorn

Popcorn Ball Directions

To make these delicious popcorn balls, first make roughly 14 cups worth of popcorn in whatever fashion you prefer most. Pop it from kernels, microwave it, or just buy a bulk bag from the local grocery store.

After you have the popcorn ready, pour it into a LARGE bowl and add the candy corn in with it. With the popcorn and candy corn together, dig your hands in there to mix everything as thoroughly as you can. You’re probably going to want some type of guarding around the bowl so the popcorn doesn’t all fly out when you sink your hands in it. The candy corn is a little heavy, so it’ll want to keep sinking to the bottom, but keep at it and you should be able to mix it all up pretty well.

Separately, combine the butter and marshmallow creme over low heat in a saucepan. Once fully stirred, the two should blend into a nice liquid. Now you can add the food coloring and gelatin to make the mixture a delicious Halloween orange.

Now comes the fun part! Pour your warm marshmallow mixture over the large bowl of popcorn and candy corn. Mix it up and let the marshmallow creme soak into the popcorn for a couple minutes and then you can begin crafting the popcorn balls.
