For National Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day, we decided to take the hard work out of baking this delicious dessert. Grab a slow cooker, some cake mix and a few other ingredients, and you’ll be ready to bake an easy dessert for friends and family. We know this Slow Cooker Pineapple Upside-Down Cake will become a fast favorite.
Once you have your slow cooker ready, you will begin adding the four main layers before turning it on to cook. The first is the brown sugar layer, which will actually become the top of your cake and seal in the fruit.
Once you’ve decided how many pineapple slices to add, the Solo Cherry Cake and Pastry Filling can be placed on top. Use a small amount to just cover the pineapple, or add more to make a sweeter cake.
After adding your cake mix, you will set your slow cooker on high and step away for approximately two hours. It’s that easy!
After the cake cools, you will flip over the base of your slow cooker to allow the cake to gently fall onto a baking sheet, cake plate or wax paper. You can then slice into this dessert and enjoy.
This slow cooker cake is easy to make and customizable to your tastes. Using a lemon cake mix instead of a yellow cake will give it a sweeter flavor. The cherry filling can be used however you see fit, and the pineapple slices can be arranged to lightly cover the layer of brown sugar or completely cover it. The choice is yours! Enjoy!
