Do something sweet for a hungry child

Join Solo Foods and Share Our Strength in the Great American Bake Sale! Hold a bake sale with your family, neighbors or co-workers and help ensure no kid in America grows up hungry. Your bake sale funds will help provide after school and summer meals to children at risk of hunger in your community. "For the love of the game!"

Since 2004 Solo Foods has been the primary sponsor of S.I.F.E. (Soccer is for Everyone), a free week-long soccer camp for 350 children in our area. S.I.F.E. was founded on the radical idea that sports programs can be free, fun and exist not just to create better players, but better people.

Feed the Children

Solo Foods is a proud supporter of Feed The Children, the 9th largest international charity in the U.S. Delivering food, medicine, clothing and other living necessities to families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty or natural disaster is the driving mission of Feed The Children. Last year, Feed The Children shipped more than 135 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and their families in both the United States and around the world, supplementing more than 1,040,700 meals each day. Since its founding in 1979, the organization has reached out to help those in need in more than 115 countries around the globe. To a child in need, every meal provides a glimmer of hope. Scholarships

Teresa Sokol Novak

The Teresa Sokol Novak Scholarship provides financial support to students attending the Washburne Culinary Institute who demonstrate a strong commitment to a career in food service. Applicants are judged on academic record, letters of recommendation and a personal interview.

The idea for the scholarship was born at a Washburne alumni association meeting that was held at Sokol. President & CEO John Novak, Jr. and Executive VP & COO Ralph Pirritano, who knew the outstanding reputation of the Washburne school, attended the meeting and were so impressed with the alumni organization that they decided Sokol should sponsor a scholarship. The award was named after Teresa Sokol Novak, grandmother of John Novak Jr., since she had served as an inspiration as the family business grew.
