Ingredients

3
eggs
1 cup
half and half
2 cup
canned pumpkin
1 1⁄2 teaspoon
cinnamon
1⁄3 cup
sugar
1⁄2 teaspoon
powdered ginger
1⁄2 teaspoon
nutmeg
1⁄2 teaspoon
ground cloves
1⁄2 teaspoon
sea salt
1 package
uncooked pie crust

Topping

1 cup
raw sliced almonds
4 tablespoon
maple syrup
2 tablespoon
melted butter or margarine for brushing
1 pinch
salt
1⁄2 pint
whipping cream
2 teaspoon
sugar

Instructions

To make this almond maple pumpkin pie recipe, beat eggs and whisk in the half & half in a small mixing bowl. Add the nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon, ginger cloves, salt, and pumpkin. At 400 degrees, bake your pie crust for 6-8 minutes. Remove, cool and add a thin layer of almond paste to the bottom of the crust until completely covered. To prepare the almond paste, sprinkle with flour and roll with a pin over parchment paper until flat. Pour in the filling and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for another 35-40 minutes. While you preheat your broiler, mix almonds, melted butter, maple syrup, and salt in a small mixing bowl. Pour evenly over your pumpkin pie, and broil until the almonds are toasted (this should only take a few minutes). Cover your finished pumpkin pie with a whipping cream and sugar mixture (whip until fluffed), or use ready-made whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
