With back-to-school time officially here, it’s time to begin thinking about some after-school snacks and lunch pack items. Create a fun evening with the kids by making these delicious Chocolate Cherry Almond Paste Granola Bars.
First, prepare your cake pan with cooking spray, making sure the oats will not stick to the pan when baking. You will bake for 5 minutes and then stir them, which will ensure they will bake evenly when you return them to the oven for 5 more minutes.
Once you have melted your honey, butter, and other ingredients, you will add them to the oats and stir with a wooden spoon. Once everything is evenly coated, you can begin to crumble up the Solo Almond Paste into the mixture.
Add in the chocolate and cherries according to the recipe, or add a little more or less, depending on your particular tastes.
When distributing the mixture to the pan to set, you will want to make it as even as possible so that the end result will be consistent. Once desired amount of cocoa powder has been sifted on top, cover the granola mixture with foil and place in the refrigerator.
When cutting into the granola, place it cocoa powder side down. You may then cut into 12 equal pieces and serve the granola bars with the cocoa powder on the top.
These quick and easy after-school snacks are the perfect treat to tide the kids over until dinner. Plus, you can avoid any of the over-processed granola bars on the market by creating your own! We know that your kids will love the flavorful and sweet combination of cherry and chocolate, but feel free to mix up the ingredients on your next batch for added fun!
