How to Make Cookies with a Waffle Iron

Friday, March 8, 2013 - 3:15pm

Making cookies in a waffle iron isn’t a brand new thing, but it’s still a fun and a fast way to make cookies. Making cookies in a waffle iron is a must because:

1. Waffle Cookies look cool
2. They get crunchy on the outside, stay gooey on the inside
3. They only take about 2 minutes
4. You can make one large, cool waffle cookie

Learning how to make cookies in a waffle maker is easy. All you need is your favorite cookie dough recipe and a waffle iron. Here is one of our favorite cookie recipes:

Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe:

1 can Solo Almond Paste
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
1⁄2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
2   eggs
2 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 cup toasted almond slivers (optional)
1 package(12 oz) semisweet chocolate morsels
(For full instructions see our Almond Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe)

As you're preparing your cookie dough, begin to heat your waffle maker. Once both ready to go, simply dump a sizeable chunk of cookie dough on the waffle iron and close. You can choose whether to cook one large waffle cookie or several smaller ones. Keep an eye as they bake. Check around 2 minutes and continue until the outside is completely cooked and slightly browned. Remove with spatula, let cool, and munch.

While you're enjoying your waffle cookies, think of all the other creations you can make with a waffle iron. We’ve seen Waffle Cinnamon Rolls, Waffle Donuts, and even Waffle Pizza.  Do you have a waffle recipe? Share it with us on Twitter!
